This is one of my favourites from one of my favourite hardware I've ever owned! This screenshot shows a Gnome 2/MATE desktop on an Asus EeePC 900a using the Equinox GTK theme and Faenza icons. The wallpaper is that of a Japanese tatami room with shoji panels framing a vivid autumn garden scene.
The Faenza icons stack up perfectly on the dark mode panel, which shows some of my most used applications at the time, namely a terminal (probably Gnome-terminal), Firefox, Skype (remember Skype?!) and the current flavor of whatever text editor came with Gnome back then. Also, we had Dropbox support all the way back then, who'd thought.
