This month I actually bought a new computer, to replace my Chromebook (which in hindsight, feels like a waste of money. At least you can still use it as a Netflix machine!) I opted for a HP Laptop 14-em0924no as according to my experience HP has excellent Linux support, and it didn't disappoint!
It has a nice keyboard, albeit non-backlit and not really full size, but nice travel and feedback. The multitouch trackpad works perfectly and out-of-the-box in Ubuntu and the small form factor reminds me about the Chromebook in portability.
