About

Zak McKracken: Between Time and Space is an unofficial fan sequel to Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders (1988). This freeware point-and-click adventure by German studio Artificial Hair Bros. was developed over seven years without LucasArts' involvement or license. The original German version debuted in 2008, followed by a Director's Cut with English and French translations in 2015.

Players reprise the role of Zak McKracken, a frustrated boulevard reporter from San Francisco. While chasing a scoop, Zak stows away on a Russian freighter flying from Memphis to Zürich. Mid-flight, a UFO - seemingly in search for our headline hunter - halts the plane, and aliens board. Caught before he can escape, Zak blacks out.

The next day, he wakes in his apartment, dismissing the experience as a dream - until he notices a bump on his head. Realizing it was real but unable to remember why he was on board, he sets out to uncover the truth.

Classic point-and-click adventure awaits, packed with tongue-in-cheek easter eggs and references to the original game.

NOTE:
The game was repackaged to AppImage portable executable and uploaded to the Internet Archive to save on space. However, direct download from the Archive is rather slow, so I recommend the Torrent link.
